Officer recovering after being hit by car

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio – Brooklyn Heights Police Officer Lt. John Lambert is recovering after being struck by a car Saturday.

Lambert was assisting a stranded driver on the State Route 176 southbound ramp to Interstate 480 eastbound who was involved in a one-car crash.

Just before 5 p.m., Lambert was hit by another vehicle when another driver lost control of her car. He was thrown over the guardrail when the car crashed into him.

Lambert was transported to MetroHealth Hospital with multiple fractures, according to police. Lambert is listed in fair condition.
